Viral Infections

An infection that is caused by a virus

The movement of a virus

starting at the cell

the virus acts like a hijacker, It attaches it's self to one cell, called the home cell . The infected cell then moves through the body and infects other cells. This is how the virus spreads and grows.

The process of a viral infection

-the virus acts like a hijacker.  The Viruses depend on the host cells that they infect to reproduce. When found outside of host cells, viruses exist as a protein coat or "capsid", sometimes enclosed within a membrane. The capsid encloses either DNA or RNA which codes for the virus elements Catching a ride with the first cell that it can find.. That cell then moves through the body and infects others cells. The virus then spreads through the body. And if the home cell does not stop the whole body will be infected and that's when someone gets sick.

During attachment and penetration, the virus attaches itself to a host cell and injects its genetic material into it. During uncoating, replication, and assembly, the viral DNA or RNA codes itself into the host cell's genetic make up and induces it to replicate the viral genome.

Treatment

-some viral infections can be cured especially if they are caught early. If viral infections are not treated early the infection will get worse, stronger and more powerful. And they will be harder to treat.
-some viral infections can not be treated and cured but can only be maintained and cured.

The Goodbody enzyme

By taking a pre existing enzyme that recognizes  bonds made in the body during DNA coding and replication we will modify it in the lab and create a recognition in the enzyme to recognize a virus bond(s) so that way it can keep the the virus from entering the cell and infecting the body
